For as long as I have lived in this area - well over 20 years - the Victoria Hall has had potential, but it has never been near to being realised.
It’s such an amazing building with a prime location, that it is a mystery why it’s lain so long without a transformation. Of course, like in any business, the costs will have held it back, but it’s heartening to see the community kicking in to help.
And Saturday’s meeting to encourage people to view the plans and join the Trust have amazed everyone. With £6500 raised towards the initial target of £10,000 in only days, the feasibility study into Linlithgow’s iconic building has never been more likely to succeed. Let’s hope the end result is a boost for the High Street.
