Queensferry’s High Street is set to stage a street market next Sunday, May 25.
The event, organised by Queensferry Ambition, will feature up to 12 market stalls at the High Street car park.
A series of markets were originally planned for last summer but due to public concerns, the proposals were withdrawn.
Next Sunday’s event is the first of six open-air markets planned over the summer. The first will feature stalls selling jewellery, food, soaps and homemade cards.
Malcolm Brown, chairman of Queensferry Ambition said: ‘‘All towns and communities have to work harder these days to help ensure that they remain attractive to both locals and visitors.
‘‘The market is an added attraction and further boost for Queensferry. It would be great to hear feedback after the first market has been held.’’ The High Street car park area was closed for several days this week to allow for work to install anchor points for the stalls to comply with health and safety concerns. These will remain in place and can be used for future events.
