The Bo’ness Real Ale Appreciation Society have been rewarded for their outstanding service to the community.
The group are this year’s recipients of the McLaren Trophy awarded to them by Bo’ness Community Council.
BRAAS vice-chairman Guy Goodwin said: “Everyone involved with the society is very pleased we have been awarded the trophy. We have honestly never thought about it before so it was a nice surprise.”
The society have been hosting a real ale festival in Bo’ness for 15 years and are already planning this year’s celebration.
The money gained from the festival has always been given back to the town.
Guy said: “Apart from the first few years when we had to buy essential equipment, the money from the festival has been donated to local groups.
“Around £30,000 has been handed back to scout and guide groups, cancer charities and many more.
“All of it would not have been possible without the support of our punters and the sponsors throughout the years.” The McLaren Trophy will be on display at the Corbie Inn.
