WORK on the roof of
Linlithgow’s Star and Garter began last week.

The new timber framework took a number of days to be fitted into place, replacing the former roof that topped the famous pub until fire raged in the rafters in October 2010.

The Journal and Gazette reported last August that owner David Kennedy was planning on having the refurbished landmark at 1 High Street open by Marches 2013, and so far the project remains on target.

David’s plans include a cafe bar for commuters, a newly designed bar and restaurant, a function suite on the first floor, and five bedroom suites on the second floor of the building, which dates back to 1759.
