The largest ever School’s Cross Country Championships took place in West Lothian last month with over 900 pupils competing for glory.

Deans Community High School in Livingston hosted the event with numerous local winners tasting medal success.

Aarran Staines from Springfield Primary clinched the top P7 boys prize while Kirsten Calder of Linlithgow Primary scooped second place in the P7 girls race.

St Josephs P7 Girls Team took first place, as did the Linlithgow Primary P7 Boys Team.

Linlithgow Academy’s Sarah Calvert and Katie Taylor were first in the S1 girls and S2 girls races respectively, with Kirsty Barnes finishing third in the S2 girls race. Linlithgow Academy boys also did well with Callum Lumsden in S2 finishing second, and Andrew Mitchell and Andrew Fischbacher finishing second and third respectively in the seniors.
