IT IS enough to make the walk to school seem like a doddle! Fundraisers at Bo’ness Academy were working up a sweat on Wednesday as they took part in a swim/row/cycle to Gambia challenge.
With a massive 6000km-plus gulf separating Bo’ness from the African state, teamwork was very much to the fore as pupils and staff aimed to cover as big a distance as they could in a day.
It will be repeated later on as they try to go the full distance.
Later this month, the 13 pupils and three teachers will be covering the kilometres for real - by plane - as they embark on a visit to their partner school, the Sukuta Upper Basic Secondary.
The Academy has a £6000 fundraising target, which will build the first toilets for 1700 African pupils.
