DELVE into your attics, and dust down your photo albums! Scouting in Bo’ness is celebrating its centenary and memorabilia is needed for an exhibition.
At one stage the town had three groups, so many people will have links, whether to Sea Scouts, or a church-based outfit.
The first post-WWII Blair Atholl Jamboree involved Bo’ness children, paired with a Danish patrol, as proved by an historic 1946 scroll.
3rd Bo’ness Scouts chairman Robert Nicol said: “Have a look round, at what you’ve got, think of any family members who were maybe involved. We are looking for anything that ties in the connection between the people of Bo’ness and Scouting. I think it will be quite surprising, what turns up!”
Some items will be shown at Bo’ness Library (December 12 - Christmas) ahead of the main Cairns Lane Scout Hall display next February 25 and 26.
