A SECOND Queensferry pub has closed its doors for business within three months.
The Moorings at Hopetoun Road closed on Monday despite last-ditch efforts to keep it operational.
It follows the popular Two Bridges bar, owned by Punch Taverns, which closed in October and is now boarded up.
The Moorings, also owned by Punch Taverns, was run by local businessman Arne Fredriksen up until last October. Edinburgh based Balmoral Hospitality Management took over after his departure but, they too, have called it a day.
A Punch Taverns spokesman said: “Balmoral Hospitality Management operated the Moorings on a temporary basis and we worked with them to ensure that trade continued through the busy festive period.
‘‘The Moorings is temporarily closed and our priority is to re-open it as soon as possible with a new licensee.
‘‘We are still actively seeking a business partner to work in partnership with Punch Taverns to build a successful and sustainable business which will become a great asset to the local community.’’
Back in October, Mr Fredriksen said the pressures forced upon him as a licensee for Punch Taverns made it unviable for him to continue despite the premises having undergone a major refurbishment, and organising a varied entertainments programme to attract custom.
