SENIOR citizens from Queensferry, Kirkliston and the surrounding area enjoyed an evening of music and entertainment earlier this month.
Organised by the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, the local high school was the venue for this popular annual event. The evening began with a wonderful programme of music from Alison Mitchell and pupils of the school, along side spooky tales. The concert continued with a spirited performance by The Ferry Singers and a delightful programme of music and song by harpist Isobel Mieras. The evening ended with community singing led by popular Queensferry duo Joyce and Jim.
Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, including compere Dr Douglas Stuart.
are due to the performers who generously gave their time; Stephen Hardie and pupils for technical support; Rotarians, wives and partners who assisted with food; Rotarian Liz MacKenzie and her committee for organising the evening; Rotarians Norman Watson and Enrico Prentice for arranging the programme and transport, and finally to the ever-popular compere Dr Douglas Stuart, whose wry wit added greatly to the success of the evening.
