A clay pigeon shooter at Hopetoun Estate is one of the best in the world.
Stewart Cumming, ranked number one in Scotland, is the manager of Hopetoun Clays, a clay pigeon shooting activity centre on Hopetoun Estate.
Earlier this month he was one of 800 international competitors taking part in the FITASC World Championships, a sporting clays competition held near Lisbon in Portugal.
Stewart came in eighth in the world and the only ranking competitor from Scotland.
The top 10 included competitors from the USA, Hungary, Spain and France. It was won by Ed Solomons from England.
It was Stewart’s second consecutive year finishing in the top 10 at the world championships.
Due to his continued success on the competition circuit, demand for shooting lessons with him has increased significantly.
This included a recent visit from the West End star Emma Williams while she was in Edinburgh performing the lead role in ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ last month.
Emma wanted to experience shooting a real gun and came away from her lesson delighted – as she was actually a good shot!
*Hopetoun Clays has been operating clay shooting activities since 2011, all of which take place in the heart of the West Lothian estate.
All of the activities on offer are the estate are suitable for beginners and experienced shooters alike and the team regularly hosts private and corporate events too.
