Teddies for Tragedies knitting success in Queensferry

A MOUNTAIN of teddies knitted by volunteers in the Journal and Gazette area heading off to less fortunate young children in Africa.

The Teddies for Tragedies initiative, co-ordinated by Queensferry lady Norma Brown, saw more than 680 teddies being knitted by volunteers knitters over the past year.

Last weekend after having collected all the teddies knitted by volunteers in Queensferry and beyond, they were transported from Queensferry Parish Church to Blythswood Care in Glasgow, for distribution to charities working with children in Malawi.

Initially 500 will be sent out to the Raven Trust in Malawi with the remainder being sent out next spring.
