A 19-year-old male has been charged in connection with three housebreakings in Bo’ness which took place earlier this week.

Homes on Birdland Avenue, Foredale Terrace and Carriden Brae were targeted on Monday and Tuesday and police recovered items taken from the properties when the arrest was made on Wednesday night.

Staff from the Community Investigation Unit were assisted by local officers and the dog unit in tracing the man.

Sergeant Rushford said: “The apprehension of this man follows on from extensive local enquiry. In addition to his arrest, we also recovered a large proportion of the stolen property which has been returned to the owners. A gold chain and gold ring in a black jewellery bag was also found.

“So far these items have not been reported stolen. If these items belong to you then I would ask you to contact Police. I would like to thank the public who provided information which assisted in identifying this man.”

The arrested man is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff court today.
