Inconsiderate parking at a Bo’ness industrial estate is proving a hot issue for both pedestrians and motorists.
And this week a concerned local, who said some motorists almost came to blows when the congestion in Bridgeness Road was at its worst, called for more care to be shown.
Marion Sandilands, who is disabled and needs a motorised scooter to get around, said: ‘‘It’s worse during shift changes but is a continuing issue. Thoughtless on-street parking makes it difficult for HGV drivers trying to gain access or leave the industrial estate.
‘‘All of this makes it very difficult for pedestrians whether able-bodied or disabled like myself.’’
Police have confirmed they have received calls from concerned members of the public about the issues, with officers giving advice to drivers.
Local councillor Sandy Turner said he was satisfied the situation would be resolved after construction works were concluded on site when a new traffic mangement plan with separate access and egress is operational.
He added that additional car parking was a part of the work and said that rights of way had also been protected and enhanced.
