LINLITHGOW fundraisers are gearing up for a grand “legends” charity football match next week.
Thomas Harry and his pals have won support from soccer legends such as Andy Goram, Frank McAvennie, Kevin “Crunchie” MacAllister and Henry Smith for the forthcoming challenge match. The two sides will be coached by Falkirk FC head coach Steven Pressley and the club’s director of football Alex Smith.
The enthusiastic fundraisers are bidding to raise money to build a new gospel mission hall in Falkirk and also to raise money for charities such as CHAS, Strathcarron Hospice, Christian Aid and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Other beneficiaries will be Diabetes UK, Help for Heroes, Cash 4 Kids and Falkirk Football Community Foundation.
As well as Thomas, the Linlithgow fundraisers include Bena Harry, Colin Ramsay, Callum Heeps, Colin Brown and Graham Orr.
Colin plays for Bridgend United while Gordon turns out for Linlithgow Thistle.
The match goes ahead at Falkirk Stadium, Westfield, Falkirk on May 29 at 7pm. Tickets are £10 (£5 kids) and available from Falkirk FC website, on 01324624121 and you can also pay at the gate. For more information go to www.charityaidmatch.com
