SCHOOL leavers have found jobs locally with an apprenticeship
programme from Linlithgow’s Autobits.

Linlithgow Academy pupils Thomas Wilson and Christopher Cameron were 17 and 16 respectively when they started at the local High Street business which has expanded into the online market and cycle repairs. Since then they have completed a full year’s apprenticeship and are now full time at Autobits.

Ricki Steedman at Autobits said: “We took the approach to train school leavers via an apprenticeship programme which includes SVQ modules. This is a positive step in uncertain retail times and we hope to continue growing over the next few years.”

The apprenticeship training is all done within the workplace and assessed by the skills staff who visit for two hours every three weeks. It is available for 16-18 year olds.
