The Barony Theatre in Bo’ness has promised a full refund for anyone who bought tickets for its failed bid to stage a gala fundraising comedy night.

The event, which aimed to raise cash to pay for maintenance of the theatre, was due to take place tomorrow (November 6).

It was to have starred actor and patron David Hayman and comedians Susan Morrison and Bruce Morton, among others.

But the show was called off at short notice after unexplained problems with the timing of the performance.

A spokeswoman for the theatre said: “If you’ve booked tickets we’ll be in touch to refund you.

“This is very disappointing but we’ll be re-scheduling for the New Year. Many thanks to those who were coming along”.
