Journal and Gazette readers can once again enjoy a day trip to Oban as Scotrail relaunch their summer service.
The Edinburgh to Oban trains will now run on 10 Sundays from June 26 to August 28.
Graeme Macfarlan, ScotRail’s marketing manager, said: “The trial proved its worth in 2010 and we are delighted it is not only being repeated but extended to 10 weekends.”
“The calls at Linlithgow and Falkirk High will further extend its appeal and the services should boost tourism as they fit very well into the day trip market.”
Trains will depart Edinburgh Waverley at 8.10am, calling at Haymarket, Linlithgow, Polmont, Falkirk High, Dalmuir, Helensburgh Upper and all stations to Oban arriving Oban 12.06pm. Oban departures are at 5.04pm arriving Edinburgh Waverley at 9.09pm.
