A HEAD-ON collision between two cars near Torphichen last Friday landed both drivers in hospital needing treatment.

Paramedics rushed to the crash scene on the stretch of the A801 at Avon Gorge near Torphichen, after they received an emergency call on Friday at 7.30am that two Vauxhall Astras had been involved in a smash. A 56-year-old man and another individual were rushed to Forth Valley Royal Infirmary. The man, who was in a blue Astra, was treated for back injuries at the scene, and the other treated for chest pains, but neither had injuries that were considered to be serious.
