Uncertain future for Linlithgow police office

AS LINLITHGOW Police Station merges into a new partnership centre the future of the Court Square building is unclear.

A Lothian and Borders police spokesman said: “Lothian and Borders police is working with West Lothian Council on plans to relocate the Linlithgow police station within the County Buildings, which is currently under development.

“The move would create a Partnership Centre similar to the successful model at West Lothian Civic Centre, where police and council deliver shared services in partnership.

‘‘This would provide a more effective service to the local community, while also realising cost savings for the force.

“Any move to the newly created Partnership Centre would result in the current Linlithgow Police Station becoming surplus to requirements and a decision on any future use or subsequent sale would be made by the relevant police authority.”

Public consultation on the Linlithgow Partnership Centre is continuing.
