THE new Post Office in Linlithgow opened its doors at 266 High Street yesterday (Thursday).
A temporary PO van was set up in the Water Yett car park after the Post Office at the Regent Centre closed on Saturday, September 15. It was meant to provide PO services to the community for a week with the new premises planning to open on Monday, but the move was delayed by a few days to iron out the final details.
When final approval was given by building control at West Lothian Council on Wednesday, the new Post Office opened yesterday (Thursday) and was already packed out by 10am.
This week, a Post Office spokesperson apologised for the short delay in relocation, adding they had been working round the clock to get the new service ready. The new Post Office at 266 High Street is open from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday, and closed on a Sunday.
