Walkers and cyclists advised of B708 path closure

A path that links the B708 (the high level road between Armadale and Bathgate) with the National Cycle Path 75 has been closed.

A path that links the B708 (the high level road between Armadale and Bathgate) with the National Cycle Path 75 has been closed.

A spokesman for West Lothian Council said: “The path closure at Kenbog Farm, just to the south of the B708, is due to the discovery of an uncapped mine shaft below the path. Recent drilling revealed the exact location of the shaft but this disturbance may have made its collapse more likely and it is for this reason that the path has been closed. The path may remain closed for some time.”

There is another path linking Tarrareoch Court, just south of the B708 with National Cycle Path 75 which should be used whilst the closure is in force. For further information contact the Access Officer on 01506 282421 or email david.oldham@westlothian.gov.uk
