West Lothian Council has made special arrangements for recycling and refuse collections for Easter.
The message is ‘please put your bin or waste container out early and keep it out until it is emptied.”
Volunteers from Waste Services have been sought to work both bank holidays and provide a normal service on Friday 18 and Monday, April 21.
However, it is possible that some wheeled bins which are due to be emptied on both bank holidays may not be uplifted on the normal service day due to the potential of a shortfall of volunteers.
Residents are being asked to present their bin by 7am on both days and keep it out until emptied.
A spokesperson for West Lothian Council commented: “Volunteers will pull out all the stops to provide as complete a service as possible on the bank holidays. If you are due a collection on these days, please put your bin out and leave it out until it is emptied.
“The weekly food waste service will continue to operate. The bulky uplift service will not operate on either day and customers will be offered the corresponding day the following week. Bulky uplifts will recommence on Tuesday, April 22 for uplifts in the relevant service locations.
Residents who are now taking part in the weekly food waste service will still have their kerbside caddy emptied on the Friday and Monday and all residents should ensure that the caddy is placed at the kerbside by 7am.
All Community Recycling Centres will remain open.
