A couple bidding to win their wedding in a radio competition are not looking for your votes...but your cash!
Lesley Mair and her partner Graham McIvor have reached the final five in the Forth One competition.
To take the top prize of a £15,000 wedding, they now have 12 days to raise as much money as possible for charity Cash for Kids.
Lesley, who is originally from Bo’ness, said: “One of my friends heard the competition being advertised and suggested we should enter. We had to write 200 words on what we would do to try to raise the money.
“I wrote mine in the style of 12 Days of Christmas, and we had to make a presentation to staff from Cash For Kids before we found out we were in the final.”
The couple have wasted no time in organising a whole host of events, including a sponsored cycle at the Gyle at the weekend, and collections at local football matches in Falkirk and Bo’ness.
Lesley, who works for Visit Scotland, has also organised bake sales for her colleagues as well as two events in Bo’ness and Linlithgow this weekend.
There will be a charity night at the West Port Hotel tonight (Friday) from 7.30pm with raffles, fundraising games and a DJ. On Monday, May 19, there will be a prize bingo at Kinneil Bowling Club at 7.30pm.
Lesley added: “We would love to win but if we don’t the charity will still benefit so it’s a win-win situation.”
