Orocco Pier in Queensferry this week added another accolade to its burgeoning trophy cabinet.
The High Street business won the top wedding hotel of the year (small hotel) category in the Scottish Hotel Awards 2012 in Glasgow on Sunday. The hotel’s general manager Andrew McKenzie also picked up a gold medal for managerial excellence.
Peter Wilson, director of Renaissance Ecosse, which runs Orocco Pier said: “We are delighted to have received this award as we did not see it coming. We are pleased that Andrew has been recognised in his role too. It’s great to get these accolades but we never rest on our laurels, we have to continue to improve in all areas.”
Since Orocco Pier opened more than a decade ago, it has seen a major expansion of the business with additional hotel rooms, its bar/bistro Antico and its re-launched restaurant – Samphire but weddings play a major role with no less than 140 weddings per year.
