DISADVANTAGED youngsters look set to benefit this Christmas from the West Lothian Toy Appeal.
The West Lothian Toy Appeal is now in its 27th year and helps around 1000 children, from about 400 families each year.
They come from the most disadvantaged families in the district, either socially or financially, and this year the appeal has teamed up with West Lothian Leisure which runs Xcite in Linlithgow. The organisers are looking for new and good quality second-hand toys.
Robin Strang, general manager of West Lothian Leisure said: “We have facilities all over West Lothian which makes it easy for residents to bring along toys and drop them off.”
Current Miss West Lothian, Metja Bowes, joined Terry McCafferty, pictured right, who is representing Linlithgow at this year’s Miss West Lothian to launch the appeal. Organiser Wendy Simpson and Margaret MacDonald from Xcite Linlithgow were also there.
