linlithgow Academy put on a fantastic show at the Scottish schools individual fencing championships earlier this month.

The contest was held at Linlithgow Academy over two days with pupils from 32 Scottish secondary schools competing in foil, epee and sabre for medals.

Master-at-arms trophies were awarded to individuals who gained the best combined result over the three weapons.

Linlithgow Academy took home the trophy for best boys’ school and local pupils made a mark in the under 14, under 16, and over 16 categories.

Results: under 16 boys master-at-arms Ross Manson; under 14 boys’ epee - 3 David Moody, 3 Ewan Munro; under 14 boys sabre - 3 David Moody; under 16 boys epee - 1 Ross Manson, 2 Jack Douglas; under 16 boys foil - 1 Jack Douglas, 2 Ross Manson; under 16 boys sabre - 1 Ross Manson, 3 Jack Douglas; over 16 girls epee - 1 Maya Kamat.
