CLEAR blue skies on Saturday morning encouraged three Linlithgow AC athletes to the Cramond foreshore for the Edinburgh Parkrun.
Malcolm Hughes (37th in 20:01) equalled his best time on the course and Mark Anderson (99th in 21:43) achieved a new PB. Hilary Stocks also ran well to finish in 193rd position (32nd female) in 24:05.
The afternoon sun in Glasgow attracted more Linlithgow athletes to the Glasgow University’s five mile road race. It was perhaps ironic that an event that had to be postponed in December due to icy conditions was subsequently held on the warmest day of the year so far. Representing the town were LAC’s Angus Gallie (46th in 31:09) and, Charlotte Fortune (49th in 31:28) together with Donald Stark (95th in 35:54) who is currently training with the club.
The lone LAC runner on Sunday reported rather different conditions after encountering patches of snow at the Lasswade 10 mile race. Despite this frosty reception to the undulating course, David Marshall posted a time of 62:41 to finish in 26th place.
