FOUR Bo’ness ASC swimmers were fast enough to qualify in the West District over-14 year age group for the recent event held in the Olympic length 50m pool at the Dollar Aqua Centre in East Kilbride.
Kayrine Kelly (16) started the weekend with a silver medal in the 800m freestyle. She also won two golds in the 200m IM and 100m butterfly.
She followed this on Sunday with gold in the 400m IM and gold in the 100m butterfly.
Twins Stuart and Craig Knight (aged 16) also had five swims. In Saturday’s 400m IM Craig came 4th and Stuart 6th. They later swam in the 400m freestyle. On Sunday Stuart came fourth in the arduous 1500m freestyle.
Craig gained a personal best time in the 100m breaststroke heats and then improved it again in the finals. Stuart swam in the 200m IM on the Sunday afternoon. Both then raced in the 200m freestyle.
Duncan Scott started his swims with the 400 IM and took four seconds off the 14-year-old age group record and was presented with gold and personal best medals. He finished the morning session with silver in the 200m breast.stroke On Saturday he gained two more gold medals - in the 100m backstroke and 200m butterfly.
His time for the latter was a personal best and a British Youth qualifying time.
Sunday saw him swim to silver in the 1500m freestyle and the 100m breast, with gold in the 200m backstroke. He finished with two more golds in the 200m IM and 200m freestyle.
This was the last competition for these swimmers before they head to Sunderland to compete in the Scottish National Age Group Championships.
Jemma Brown (13) will join the Bo’ness Squad when they swim between March 31 and April 4.
