Commonwealth Games cycle stars to compete at Stirling University

More than 300 top cyclists are set to take part in the ‘Crit on the Campus’ event in Stirling this Sunday.

The event will feature some of the best riders in Scotland including many Commonwealth Games stars.

Stirling Bike Club, in collaboration with the University of Stirling, is hosting the event which will see 340
riders compete laps on a 
one mile circuit around the University’s campus.

Racing begins at 8.30am for a series of youth races showcasing the future stars of the Scottish race scene, closely followed by a beginner (4th category) race at 10.45am.

The women’s race follows at 12.50pm with the elite men’s race at 2pm.

With over £1300 in the prize fund, the races promise to be fast and frantic with some of the best riders from the UK battling it out, including several Team Scotland stars.

Spectators can view the races from anywhere on the course whilst walking around the University campus, or enjoy the action in the events village at the heart of the circuit.
