Fair and Gala Day football fundraiser

THE stakes are high in the third annual over-30s Bo’ness Fair and Linlithgow/Linlithgow Bridge Gala Day fundraising football match!

Honours are even as the teams limber up to face each other at Prestonfield on Sunday, May 5 (ko 12.30pm).

Players give £5 each for the privilege of taking on their rivals, and entry for spectators is £2 on the day, with raffle tickets on sale too.

Proceeds are split 50:50 between the fair and gala day, with each event benefitting by about £800 so far.

For this third fixture, not only will the conquering side get their hands on the Challenge Trophy, sponsored by KDM Shopfitting run by Linlithgow businessman Keith McInnes, but they will also lift the George Simpson Memorial Trophy.

Fair Queen Nicole Bell and Gala Day Queen Fiona Tuckett will present the Challenge Trophy and man of the tournament award.

Linlithgow goalie Davie Paterson, said: “I’d like to thank the Rose committee and social club for allowing us to use the park.”

Bo’ness team organiser Tom Burns said: “We are gunning for revenge.”
