BIG-HITTING Linlithgow Leisure Centre instructor Helen Wilson was on top form at the weekend.
Muai Thai boxer Helen (35) competed in and won her first competitive bout in a contest at Hamilton.
Helen has been in training for several months and was hyped up for her competitive debut. Fighting for the Grangemouth-based Carnage Muai Thai Boxing Club she faced up to and defeated fellow debutant Kat Dwyer representing the Sit Ayuthaya club from Hamilton.
Helen of Belsyde Court is married to Scott. The couple have two children, Sophie (5) and Cassie (8).
Said Helen: ‘‘I’ve been in training for months and months and was very excited about my first competitive fight.
‘‘It was amazing to win.’’
She added: ‘‘Thai boxing is very physical and the training is really intense.
‘‘I’m as fit as I’ve ever been and it’s also a great stress reliever!’’
Carnage Muai Thai Boxing Club has its own gym in Grangemouth and is planning to stage a competition in Bo’ness town hall on April 23.
’’It’s our second competitive event for clubs from across Scotland,’’ said Helen.
