KIDS from Linlithgow cluster primary schools were bouncing all over the court last week at a one-day handball festival.
Over 200 P6 pupils from Winchburgh, Bridgend, Low Port, Springfield, Linlithgow Bridge, Linlithgow Primary, Westfield, Torphichen and St Joseph’s tried their hand at the sport that had them all competing for glory at Linlithgow Academy.
Winners on the day were Winchburgh, Linlithgow Primary and Springfield.
Lesley Malone, primary PE specialist for the Linlithgow cluster, said: “Very enthusisatic, noisy primary six boys and girls, who have been learning to play the game since the beginning of the year with PE specialists and class teachers, thoroughly enjoyed playing this exciting game. The event was a great success.”
Alan Stokes, international referee at London 2012, and handball sports development officer, was also there and was extremely impressed by the level of skill and enthusiasm displayed.
