Linlithgow Rose narrowly missed out on bringing the Scottish Junior Cup home today (Sunday) after going down one-nil to Auchinleck Talbot in the final.

Playing in glorious sunshine in front of thousands at Livingston, unbeaten-all-season Rose were defeated by a second half goal in the 2013 Emirates Scottish Junior Cup, failing to take the title for what would have been the fifth time.

On Sunday night they paraded through Linlithgow in an open-topped bus to allow their fans to mark a magnificent 2012/2013 by manager Mark Bradley and his team.

Fans turned out in their hundreds to cheer the team home along the High Street to the Burgh Halls, where they will be greeted by West Lothian Council Provost Tom Kerr and Jack Adair, Provost of the Deacon’s Court.

We’ll have reaction, reflection and pictures in print this Friday.
