Ace fishing at Bowden Springs

Fishing on both lochs at Bowden Springs near Linlithgow is still going well up apart from a couple of days when the ice stopped play.

The past week on the fly loch saw Mr McKenna of Slamanan take two fish for 8lb 4 oz on an Ace of Spades. Mr Ross of Stirling had a fine fish for 5lb 11oz taken on bloodworm and Mr McLean of Stirling had four for 9lb using a hot head damsel.

Others had good sport using orange fritz, cat’s whisker, orange lure and the favoured yellow dancer. Best lines were sinking tip and intermediate.

Bait anglers also fared well with fish in the 2-6lb class being landed.

A competition is being held this Sunday (weather permitting) with places still available for the bait loch.
