Newbigging takes over at Bo'ness United

WILLIE NEWBIGGING is the new manager at Bo'ness United, as the side look to become the first team to win back-to-back East Super League championship titles.

Newbigging was Allan McGonigal's right-hand man last season, and now takes over the reins, with McGonigal becoming full time U19 manager at Hamilton Accies.

The newly-installed BU gaffer told the Journal and Gazette: "First and foremost I'm very honoured to be the manager of Bo'ness and I know there's great expectations there.

"I know the hard work will definitely be there and know we can definitely play and hopefully we can take this club forward.

"Last season was fantastic, building a new team from scratch and to go on and win the Super League was so special.

"Hopefully we can go and do what we did last season and possibly add a bit more."
