Thistle jag Bo'ness 2-0

IT IS said that things come in threes and Bo'ness United certainly had a triple whammy when they faced Bathgate Thistle in their first Super League game of the new season.

Bo'ness United 0

Bathgate Thistle 2

Fallon 51, Johnston 74

The eager BU faithful were left disappointed when there was no flag presentation before the match and then they saw Will Snowdon sent off in controversial circumstances in the first half. The final straw was the defeat suffered against Bathgate in a game where Bo'ness played some good football but could not convert the many chances created.

Fraser Forrest returned to the BU line up after experiencing a broken nose only two weeks ago and Chris Donnelly was in after returning from holiday.

New signings Brian Carrigan and Martin Ure were both on the bench.

Find out how the match played out in this week's Journal and Gazette, on sale on Friday, August 27.
