SOUTH Queensferry boxer Paul Appleby is back in action next month when he is given a chance to re-establish himself at championship level.

Appleby, the former British featherweight champion, will face Steven Ormond for the vacant Celtic super-featherweight title at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena on March 10.

Appleby last stepped through the ropes in October for his sensational super- featherweight Commonwealth title showdown against Liam Walsh.

The local boxer was unfortunate to lose out to Walsh in a thrilling encounter which went on to win trade magazine Boxing Monthly’s ‘Fight of The Year’.

Appleby will be looking to put in a similar performance but with a better outcome when he meets the Dubliner who brings an unblemished record of 11-0 with him to Glasgow.
