Lothian Running Club members were involved at the Great Edinburgh International Cross Country meeting on Saturday.

The club was represented in the BUPA Great Winter 5k Run and BUPA Great Winter Junior 2.5k Run.

In the 5k Graham McIntyre was first back in 58th place in 20.49 seconds. He was followed by Paul Young (168th in 23.42), Neil Graham (201st in 24.12) and 314th and 45th female Shona Young (25.53).

Andrew and Amy Lickley contested the junior race with Andrew 14th in his age group in 10 minutes seven seconds with Amy 23rd in her category in 10.46.

The womens’ international 6k incorporated the Scottish Inter-District Championships and saw the club’s Sarah Inglis represent the East District.

Sarah finished 31st overall and 10th in the Inter-District race, where she finished 3rd East District runner home in 23 minutes 51 seconds.

This helped place the East team in second place behind winners West.

The cross-country focus switches to Livingston for the East District Championships. Saturday’s races also incorporate the final match in the East District Cross Country League.
