A comprehensive win in his top of the table class with Ross McIntosh saw Norman Cummings (Linlithgow Curling Club) secure his first Henderson League title.

Opening with a one at the first end and then a two at the second the match was effectively over when Norman added four at the fourth. The teams swapped ones at the fourth and fifth ends and when Norman took a five at the sixth the skips shook hands on a 13-1 victory for Norman.

At the other end of the table Alan Fauld’s fate was sealed when he went down 7-3 to Stuart Milne, a result which sees Stuart leapfrog Ross McIntosh and move into second place.

Initially the match was a tight affair with only one being scored at each of the first six ends, Stuart winning four and Alan two, but a three at the seventh sealed the win for Stuart.

In the final match, George McNeil overcame David Hewitt 8-6.

After six ends it was all square, David countering George’s three ones and a two with a two and a three but then in what proved to be the decisive end George picked up a three of his own which David could not match at the final end.

Results: Norman Cummings 13 - 1 Ross McIntosh, Alan Faulds 3 - 7 Stuart Milne, George McNeill 8 - 6 David Hewitt

Congratulations to Norman, John Irving, Brian Wolsey and Steve McKenzie on winning the Henderson League with one round of matches remaining.
