IT WAS jolly hockey sticks for P7 pupils at a hockey festival for Linlithgow schools.

More than 200 children from Linlithgow, Low Port, St Joseph’s, Springfield and Linlithgow Bridge Primaries competed for glory. But it was a team from Linlithgow Primary that came out on top with Linlithgow Bridge coming a close second.

Linlithgow PE specialist Lesley Malone congratulated the teams saying: “The umpire Morag Johnston from Linlithgow Hockey Club and Linlithgow Academy
senior pupils hockey captain Emma, Lyndsay and Fraser Manson
ensured safe and fair play and were extremely pleased with the level of skills and excellent behaviour.”

Several P7 girls were talent spotted and invited to attend the S1 girls’ hockey practice on Wednesdays with Lesley after Christmas. Linlithgow Hockey Club is also offering free sessions for boys and girls on Wednesdays at 6pm at Linlithgow Academy with Morag Johnston.
