Two sports bursaries, each worth £200, are up for grabs for the right applicants.

Linlithgow Grange Rotary Club is offering its annual sports bursaries to two young sportsmen or women with budding talent.

The money is to be spent in furthering their participation in their chosen sport. It could purchase equipment, contribute towards coaching costs, or summer camp or pay for travel expenses. The bursaries have helped young rowers, golfers, footballers, bowlers, tennis players and fencers.

Linlithgow Grange Rotary Club hopes that its small investment into the young sports talent of the district will generate sports stars of the future.

Any young person under the age of 18 on July 1, 2015, interested in applying for a bursary should contact Roy Redwood at royredwood@gmail.com or by phone on 07849 616859.

Deadline for applications is April 30.

‘‘It is said that excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better,’’ said a spokesman for Linlithgow Grange Rotary Club.
