This Sunday Linlithgow’s Mini Section will play host to more than 200 youngsters from Biggar, Falkirk, Forrester, Gala and Watsonians at the annual Mini Tournament.
It is a major exercise cramming all this onto the two pitches at Mains Park and feeding all of the hungry mouths which makes it a big day for the volunteers as well as for the youngsters.
The youngsters will play their games in age sections, from Micros through Primary Four to Primary Seven, with the teams playing in two pools to qualify for finals. This year Linlithgow RFC is glad to announce that Linlithgow Sainsbury’s are sponsoring the tournament for the first time.
Sainsbury’s are providing food for all the youngsters and are sponsoring the inaugural Sainsbury’s Shield for the P7s.
Linlithgow RFC’s director of youth rugby, Paul Fensom, said “We are delighted to announce this partnership between the rugby club and such a prominent local business. We are very grateful for this support. This will help us make the event even more of a special day for all those attending and I am sure that there will be keen competition to win the Sainsbury’s Shield.”
