Howard Smith and Jonathan Balloch faced off in an end of season play-off match at Inchyra Tennis Club with both players looking quite confident in the warm up.

As the match progressed, nerves hit both players and Howard let a 5-2 lead slip to allow Jonathan back take the first set 7-5.

Both players relaxed as the match went on and the standard improved as Howard levelled the tie taking the second set 6-2 before closing out the final set 6-3 to win the match.

John Irons representing Dundee University managed to end a four-match losing streak in the National Universities league by winning the Dundee University Championships, winning through rounds before defeating Juan Matius Sanchez 6-3 7-6 in the final in front of a large vocal following.
