There was a good turnout of supporters for the Linlithgow Thistle’s charity football tournament held last weekend at Linlithgow Rugby Club.
It proved to be another excellent event, with a fantastic standard of competition between all sides.
Stirling Albion under 19s claimed the trophy after a defeat of last year’s winners, Stenhousemuir AFC, in the final.
Along with the impressive trophy, donated by Surridge Sports, the club also collected a cheque for their nominated charity, SSPCA for a whopping £700.
The host side progressed to the semi-finals as winners of their league, with impressive performances. The club’s new faces appeared to gel well.
As well as providing an excellent pre-season workout for all teams, great friendships were established between the clubs.
The tournament was very generously sponsored by Sainsbury’s, Linlithgow, the Dolphin Snack Van and Caledonian Produce.
Linlithgow Thistle also wish to thank Forth Valley GIS for providing plastic water bottles to all clubs, Linlithgow Rugby Club for the use of their facilities, Bo’ness United CFC and Linlithgow Rose CFC for the use of their portable goals.
