Uncharted Waters, a free exhibition of contemporary tapestry art, is open to the public from Friday 9 May until Sunday 3 August at the Gallery at Linlithgow Burgh Halls.

Award-winning tapestry artist Fiona Hutchison brings together a body of work that shows the creative potential of contemporary woven tapestry and stitched paper, exploring her continuing fascination with the sea.

Fiona has been designing and weaving tapestry for over 26 years, and is exhibited widely throughout Europe and Eastern Europe, Russia, Korea, Japan and the USA. She strives to create a light and delicate textile art that has the strength and presence of a traditional tapestry.

Dave King, Executive councillor for culture and leisure, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Fiona Hutchison and her Uncharted Waters exhibition to Linlithgow Burgh Halls.

“The Gallery at Linlithgow Burgh Halls offers West Lothian residents the chance to catch quality exhibitions like this for free, so I’d encourage local people to go and see it while it’s on their doorstep.

“Those viewing the exhibition could also take the chance to explore some of the many other attractions Linlithgow has to offer nearby, such as the Burgh Halls café and Rose Garden, Linlithgow Palace and Linlithgow Loch.”

The Gallery at Linlithgow Burgh Halls, The Cross, Linlithgow, West Lothian, EH49 7AH is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, with late openings until 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
