Earlier this year Miller Homes was given the go ahead for its 167-property Kinglass Fields development on land to the south of Kinglass Cottage off Borrowstoun Road in Bo’ness despite fears over flooding and road traffic concerns.

Home owners in nearby Gauze Road say the contractors working on the site are making the road, at the junction with Gauze Road, even more dangerous by parking their vehicles along it.

The Bo’ness Journal visited the site last week and saw a number of cars and vans barked on Borrowstoun Road, ignoring unofficial prohibition notices put in place urging them not to park there.

One resident called it an accident waiting to happen.

A Miller Homes spokesperson said: “Due to the upgrading works being carried out on Borrowstoun Road under a permit scheme authorised by Falkirk Council, our contractors and site workers have been unable to access the development at all times.

“We apologise if this has caused any inconvenience to local residents. We have now been able to re-open part of Borrowstoun Road for site access only. This will allow our contractors access to parking on site and we will be actively encouraging our contractors to park there.”

As well as a mixture houses, the firm’s plans include two vehicular access points off Borrowstoun Road, a footpath network and a Sustainable Urban Drainage System.
