Planning permission has been granted to build a row of four new shops on land beside Glasgow Road in Denny.

Plans show the new units would be built on the site of the old Denny Bingo Hall which was badly damaged in a fire in 2010, and then finally demolished.

The applicant wants to make the retail units split level, with lower level storage areas to the rear.

The narrow access lane would also be widened and six parking spaces added.

One objection to the plans was received.

It said that the owner of the lane had not been notified and that while they are happy to see the area being developed any use of the access lane would have to be negotiated.

Disputes over access to the site are a legal matter, and the report states that while planning permission has been granted any dispute could mean it may not be implemented.
