A total of £16.13m has been awarded through Scottish Government Schemes to support small businesses and the retail, hospitality and leisure sector. This grant support is worth over £1 billion to business across the country and is part of the wider business support package worth £2.3bn.

Ms Hyslop (SNP) said: “This is an exceptionally difficult time for businesses across West Lothian. This Scottish Government funding is designed to support firms and ensure that our economy is on the best possible footing when we get through this health crisis.

“I know it has been a challenge for local authorities to process these grants in such a short space of time and so I want to extend my thanks to the staff at West Lothian Council who are working tirelessly to ensure that Scottish Government money is reaching businesses and helping to support the local economy.

“I would encourage all businesses across West Lothian to ensure that they are receiving the support they are entitled to.”
