Slight rise in West Lothian Universal Credit claimants

The latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions show a slight rise in Universal Credit claimants in West Lothian.

On January 14, 2021, there were 15,965 people in West Lothian claiming Universal Credit.

This figure has risen by 269 (1.7 per cent) from the previous month.

Meanwhile, local job centres are holding an online jobs fair this month.

A Jobecentre Plus spokesperson said: “We are hosting an Online Jobs Fair on Wednesday, March 17 from 11am via our Twitter feed.

"This involves a vacancy being tweeted every minute over a 30 minute session.

“Follow us on @JCPinLothBorder, where we also share jobs and careers advice for the Lothians and Borders, 8am-8pm seven days a week.”
