"Awards such as these wouldn’t be possible without them. I am blessed to be surrounded by an incredibly talented and dedicated team. These awards do not belong to me, they are the result of the work of the Candied family.

“Customers and the team are the two most important aspects in my business – look after them and everything else becomes significantly easier.”

That has certainly proved to be the case for Candied when it comes to the Scottish Takeaway Awards – last year the business captured the Ice Cream Parlour of the Year title and Dessert Business of the Year in 2019.

While Candied may have been the only winner from the area at the Scottish Takeaway Awards, there were a number of local businesses which made it into the final.

Land and Sea in Polmont was shortlisted for Fish n Chips Takeaway of the Year, while Skiercay in Falkirk’s Grahams Road was in the running for Deli of the Year. Both the Voseba Kebab House in Falkirk High Street and Hot Kebabs in Melville Street were contenders in the Kebab Takeaway of the Year and Granny’s Rolls and Snacks in Camelon was shortlisted in two categories, Roll Bar of the Year and Sandwich Shop of the Year.

A spokesperson for The Scottish Takeaway Awards 2023 said: “The awards aim to provide a platform to those who have dedicated their career in providing us with delicious dishes across multiple cuisines in a timely manner and affordable prices.”
